The Autodromo di Monza burst into life, as the 2008 FIA GT Championship officially
launched, with a thrilling two-day test session.

The busy first day saw the sun shine at the magnificent Italian circuit where the hard
charging Scottish GT racers Scuderia Ecosse, maximised the three one hour
sessions, ending the day with a fantastic time of 1’51.313.

Day two saw the sun shine on the team once again and the lap times tumble. Jamie
Davies setting an utterly stunning lap of 1’50.358! This lap remained at the top of
the time sheets and the mood in the team was euphoric.

The new and improved tyres from Pirelli played their part too, resulting in another
stellar performance, which enabled the team to confidently battle it out with the
throng of GT2 teams, all vying for the top step of the podium.

A truly classic season lies ahead for all!

Fabio Babini said “on the first day I felt the car got better as the track rubbered in.
Pirelli brought the right tyres to Monza and the team made good progress with the
set up. I am very very happy and have a good feeling for the rest of the season.”

Jamie Davies said ”it is always good to be back on the official racing scene. Day one
went well and I am more than happy with the team and the tyres. Day two was just
awesome and to top the time sheets rounds off a perfect test. This test has proved
that the Monteblanco test was very useful and the tyres Pirelli have produced are a
definite step up”

Scuderia Ecosse team principle Stewart Roden said “it has been a fantastic two
days test here at Monza. Pirelli have done a superb job with the tyres over the
winter and work consistently well over long runs. To be fastest again is just great.
Both drivers have done a brilliant job and it is pleasure working with them”
